Disney Fairy Tale Designer Doll Collection (Wave 2) - Briar Rose and Prince Philip [Plus Bonus TOM Store and Disney Park Product Reviews]

Yes! The day has come that I've completed a set (or at least wave two of a line) of dolls! Luckily today, I was able to win (via in store raffle), the last of wave two's couples: Briar Rose and Prince Philip.

Onto the review!

Front of the box with the slip cover.

Back of the box; no spelling mistakes as far as I can tell.

Without the slip cover. Definitely one of the best out of this wave. The colours blend together very well.

Like the other couples, this set has a similar coloured base and name plate. The name plate of this set is interesting, as it reads "Briar Rose and Prince Philip". Although we are all familiar with this princess' other name, "Aurora" or "Sleeping Beauty", it is refreshing to see that Disney put enough thought into giving her the correct name when seen in this outfit.

The back of the box.

Certificate of authenticity.

This set is number 3550 of 6000.

This Aurora has a very "Barbie-esque" look to her.

A close up of her face - her bangs were done correctly in a swirl, adding to the amount of detail.

This doll also has rooted lashed like the other girls in this wave, and a very good paint job.

A close up of her dress. Her dress is actually quite accurate to her box art. minus a few embroidery bits on her bodice.

A close up of the pattern on her skirt. It is a pattern of roses and vines.

Side view. You can see how full the dress looks.

Her dress is made of a soft velvet and embroidered with more flowers and vines.

A nice detail they've added was the very small lining along the edge of her dress in gold.

There is also a small lining of lace along the front part of her dress.

A close up of her bodice. Personally, I think they should have stuck with the box art's guide, and added more details to this part of the doll.  She wears a mint green shirt under her dress, which is also lined with a small bit of white lace.

She also wears a purple shawl to match her dress - it is very soft.

Aurora wears a black headband with small black rhinestones.

More embroidery on her dress.

Her hair is curled loosely and has a good amount of product in it.

Her shoes, like the other girls' are flats. Hers happen to be black.

Now for Philip. He does look a bit generic, but I have to say that he definitely looks better (personally) to me than his 17" LE doll counterpart. Mostly in part due to the molded hair. Although for some, the rooted hair works for them, I do think that for the males having shorter hair (and thus harder to mold with product), the molded look is the best way to go.

A close up on his outfit. His outfit fits him quite well and has a few bits of embroidery and detailing.

The symbol of this set is a flower.

It is interesting to note that although the name plate on this set reads "Briar Rose", the box itself calls them as "Aurora and Prince Philip". I do not know if they intended for it to be this way, but it is nice to have both names some where on the doll.

Her art of course, is very beautiful as well. I am glad to have been fortunate enough to acquire the whole set!

Another surprise for you all! I received my Frozen Anna shoe ornament in the mail!
I can get my Christmas decorating done early!

The shoe of course is modeled after Anna's coronation gown - my favourite outfit of hers!

The bottom of the shoe is signed by the character and the artist.

A nice feature of this ornament is that you can detach the lobster claw ribbon and display the shoe as a figurine as opposed to hanging it on a tree!

Next couple items up for review come from Tokyo Otaku Mode!
This bear was sent to me today. It is from Amuse (Japan) - their series of Macaron bears. The bears in this series of plushies are each coloured after a different flavour of macaron. This particular bear is lilac/ Cassis.

Its little paws are also embroidered!

From the side view, you can see that it is a very soft and plump plush!

The tag - features the other bears you can get in this series including chocolate, vanilla, lemon and raspberry!

Last Item up for review is another Pote Usa Loppy! This loppy is called "Sora" due to its blue colouration.

This bunny is from the Loppy "Pop" Series - easily identifiable due to the polka dots on their ears.

The tag - featuring all the bunnies you can get in this series!
