Disney Limited Edition Dolls Review - [Frozen] March 2015 Elsa and Anna 17" Dolls

A new day, a new review.

Today was the release of the third set of Frozen dolls, and I went over to the store to buy them. I wasn't sold on Kristoff, so I did not purchase him.

These dolls have gotten some negative feedback from their stock images from fellow collectors; so let's take a closer look to see if these were worth the wait.

Ready? Let's go~
Anna and Elsa side by side in their boxes. The colour choices for these boxes I found were quite odd (but that's just my personal opinion). The designs themselves I did enjoy, however.

Let's start with Elsa. Here she is in her box.

Her name and design is in blue, and the plastic has flowers on the cover.

The sides of her box are also detailed in white design on the plastic.

The Top of the box was very unique. Like a flower shaped pattern. Although I like the uniqueness of this aspect of the box, the design cut-out made it difficult to put the plastic cover back on.

The back of her box is similar to her previous dolls, with her silhouette on top.

Disney did a great job putting more detail onto the plastic cover.

Out of her box! Elsa is in the dress she wore when she said goodbye to her parents; as well as their funeral day. Her attire consists of a long dress, with a long-sleeved blouse, and a form fitting jacket.

Her background is a stained glass (sort of) window. Which makes sense, given that in this outfit in the movie she is still hiding in her room (with these windows). My only issue with this (and Anna's) background is that is it a bit low quality; pixelated and a bit blurry up close.

Here is a full view of her dress. The details are great, movie accurate as per usual with the Frozen dolls.

Here is a close up of her jacket. Her belt is embroidered, as well as the tiny details on it.
Her jacket is cut out in the back, with the details extending here.

Her gloves are the same as her coronation doll.

Here is the detailing on her skirt. Very simple.

A close up of her face. Elsa has shimmer on her skin that her previous dolls do not. In the light she shines a very iridescent purple.
I tried to capture the shimmer as best as I could on camera.

Her hair is done in a neat bun, with a braid over the bun, and a braid to the side.

The sideburns on this doll are a bit odd, but they lay flush against her face so it isn't that noticeable.

Her make up is purple, matching her theme, and she has rooted lashes.

A bit of a put off, however are that her shoes are exactly the same as her coronation doll. It would have been nice if they at least changed the paint job on these shoes to make them a bit more unique to this doll.

My Elsa is number 2017 of 5000! (That's 2 years from now~ :P )

Next up we have Anna! My personal favourite, her doll (to me) wins this round in comparison to Elsa. Here she is in her box.

The colour scheme for this box is very odd. Pastel colours (when she is wearing dark; and her overall scheme is green) The design though, is still pleasing to the eye.

Like Elsa, Anna's box has wonderful detailing on the plastic.

She has the same cut-out flower design on the top of her box (which still makes it difficult to put the plastic cover back on).

The back of her box is coloured beautifully.

Out of her box. What I really love about this doll, is that the way they posed her is very cute. Her pose is very similar to her skating at the end of the movie, however her shoes are her regular boots and not ice skates.

Anna is standing in front of her castle on a bridge after Elsa has thawed the ice and snow. Again, a beautiful background, but is low quality, blurry and pixelated.

A close up of her dress. She is in the dress she wore at the end of the movie after Elsa brings back Summer.

Her skirt is decorated generously with rhinestones and is embroidered. After double-checking, I can confirm that this embroidery is different than her snow gear doll's skirt. This is a nice differentiation.

Her bodice is nicely made as well. Although the clips she is wearing at the top of her blouse are exactly the same as her snow gear's, it adds a good amount of detail. Her sleeves are short on this doll, and her bodice has metal flat heads with chains connecting them.

A close up on the detailing of her sleeve.

Her boots. Although they are very cute and detailed, they are exactly the same as her snow gear's boots - in a different colour. Again, a change in the frontal design would have at least made this doll a bit different than her previous one.

Her hair is styled accurately. She also has light make up and tinsel in her hair like Elsa. Like her sister, she also has shimmery skin (but in a shimmery orange; which is more difficult to photograph, but if you look closely you can see).

She also does not have the white streak in her hair like her other two dolls; at the end of the movie, it disappears.

She too, has odd sideburns that stay flush on the side of her head, but are unnoticeable.

My Anna is number 1818 of 5000!

Overall, I love these dolls, but they are not my favourite out of the current Elsa's and Anna's already released. Additionally, with the release of Frozen Fever, one would expect them to be dressed in their new spring dresses; not outfits that they wore in the movie for only a couple of seconds.

That's all for now, until next time!
