Disney Limited Edition Build-a-Bear Cinderella Review

Got this interesting set today for review~ It's the build-a-bear limited edition Cinderella bear.
It's limited to 30, 000 worldwide - which personally, is quite a big edition number. I don't see this line selling out as quick as the Disney LE dolls. Nonetheless, it is a cute product.
This bear was released in March; as well as the live action movie. Coincidence? Maybe.

The set includes a variety of things. First off, the bear comes with its own heart that matches it's patten and colour scheme.
It comes with its own pair of underwear, in light blue.
 A ballgown; also in blue.
 A tiara, and necklace.
"Glass" slippers, a sound box that plays "A dream is a Wish your Heart Makes" and a blonde wig.
I found the wig way too difficult to maintain and put on the bear itself; so I will be keeping it in its net and displaying the bear with its other accessories. I also chose to keep the voice box out of the bear; as it seems a big too unnerving for me.
Here she is all put together and dressed up -  sans wig and voice. The bear itself is made of extremely soft faux fur.
The bear also comes with its own certificate of authenticity (a very nice touch) this bear in particular is number 2284 of 30 000. Quite a low number for such a high edition size.
The bear also comes with a display box - a clear window to view her in when not in use or play. The handle of the box is a pink crown.
The back of the box features artwork of Cinderella and a little inspirational blurb with her "autograph".
On the sides of the box you can see the other princesses they will possibly have in this line.

Overall, this is an interesting line that Disney in collab with Build-a-bear has started. The wigs - I'm not so fond of. Too messy and difficult to keep on the bear. The voice box is a great touch - personally I am keeping mine apart because I prefer a quieter bear. I am looking forward to what they come up with next.

Disney Limited Edition Doll - Royal Ball Cinderella

So many reviews this month! With the Cinderella Live Action movie already upon us; so has come the release of her dolls! I didn't purchase the wedding doll, as I could not justify her price for her quality.

I did however, pick up this doll. The Royal Ball Cinderella is a limited edition of 4000. Right away you can see that her box is completely different than the other 17" dolls.

Firstly, the box itself is a light blue colour, as opposed to white that the other dolls have.
Secondly, two of the corners have been cut off to save packaging. (She is still the same length, height and width as the other dolls - minus two corners)

 The sides of her box

Additionally, she also has a ribbon handle and an extra ribbon on the back to keep the box together. I think the ribbon is a nice touch, but could have been engineered differently.

The ribbon handle is a gold colour.
The back of the box - when not obstructed by the ribbon. It's nice that they've included both English and French on this box.
The slip cover. You can see that the box has a few strips of ribbon.

The plastic cover is decorated all over - including the bottom.

Because of the shape of the box, her certificate is actually taped to the back.
Out of her box. Her skin has a pearlescent finish similar to the Frozen dolls and Fawn. I do find it rather odd that all of these recent dolls have had this finish; I prefer the dolls not to. Anyways, Cinderella is wearing her royal ball gown, and is surrounded by pop-out butterflies and scenery.

A close up of her dress. Her dress could have been scrunched more to be more movie accurate (more pleats). Her bodice is a lighter shade than the skirt portion, and the butterflies on top are made of plastic.
A close up of the bodice. The butterflies are in assorted colours and continue on the back of the doll.

Additionally, her chest area has a lot of glitter (and only in this area), which makes sense as in the movie she does have glitter on her chest. Though personally, it looks a bit odd on this doll.

Beside her is one of her glass slippers. It has an iridescent finish and a butterfly that is accurate to the movie. The design of this box has it on a 3d stair, as if she's running away from the ball.
You can see the finish better in this photo.

Random pop out butterflies are also scattered in the background.
A close up of her face. From certain angles she is not very photogenic. This may be due to Disney trying to make her look more like the actress from the movie as opposed to the animated version. She does have rooted lashes like all the other 17" dolls, but her mold leaves something to be desired. I think that if they kept everything the same and used the 12" mattel royal ball Cinderella's mold, she would have been more desirable.

Her hair is done in long curls and pulled to the side. I'm glad they didn't decide to add tinsel to this doll, as she is already too sparkly with her skin and dress.
She has crystals scattered throughout her hair and a braid on top.

In case you were curious, she does come with her other shoe!
She is number 316 of 4000

In comparing her box to the original 17" doll boxes, they are in fact the same size except that the two front corners have been reduced. This may or may not be for added design, but to me seems like a cover up for saving money on packaging.
Here she is in comparison to the animated 17" doll. Personally, the *left* Cinderella has more detailing, more accessories and overall better quality than the live action version. She has earrings, gloves, a hair piece, a necklace and a headband. The only issue with the animated doll is that her glass slippers were pressed too close to the metal stand (as all of them were) and were slightly stained. Although I really like the new Cinderella doll, I definitely feel that Disney is cutting corners (literally - e.g the box) to save money and produce lower quality dolls at a higher price than the originals.

Hoping they learn from this and release their next dolls with better quality to match the price. I will be seeing the movie tomorrow and hopefully that will make me love this doll a little more after knowing her character.

M.A.C Cinderella Collection Make Up Review

Today I got some products from MAC's line of Cinderella-inspired make up, for the upcoming Disney live action movie!

I got the eye shadow palette, beauty powder compact, fluid line, and three lipsticks.

The eyeshadow. It comes with six different colours. It has a combination of matte colours (in the middle) semi-shiny colours (on top), and glittery colours (on the bottom)
This palette is called "Stroke of Midnight")

A close up of the colours.

Next is the beauty powder. It comes in a simple case, with a button on the front for easy opening.

The product has a gold rim around it and a mirror on the top half of the compact.
This powder is called "Mystery Princess".

It is a flesh coloured powder with quite a bit of shimmer.

The fluid line - or gel eye liner.
This liner is called "Macroviolet".

It is a dark purple liner with shimmer. (Used flash so that you can better see the colour)

I got both lipsticks. Two in pink, and one in a nude colour.

The line has two lipsticks. The pink in "Royal Ball", and the nude in "Free as a Butterfly".
The pink is slightly matte with very little shimmer, while the nude has a bit of lustre in it.

Overall, these are very beautiful products, the colours are very natural and not excessively flashy, making them appropriate to wear at a party or everyday.
